The National Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia continues small-infrastructure projects for the development of tourism products.
As bm.ge was informed by the Tourism Administration, in 2021 the area of participants in the “Wine Road” project was expanded. This year, the administration has installed road signs for 28 new wine tourism host facilities across the country. Road signs are being installed for 20 new facilities. Finally, this year 48 new wine host facilities from the following regions will be involved in the project: Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Imereti, Samegrelo, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Guria and Racha-Lechkhumi.
It should be noted that the administration marked 6 hiking trails in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti this year, the total length of the trails is 105 km. The administration is organizing the marking of mountain-hiking trails in Samtskhe-Javakheti, Imereti and Guria regions. The total length of the trails is 120 km and the project will be completed in October.
Organized by the administration, in 2021 a photo frame was installed in the vicinity of Gori Fortress to promote the city and place on social networks. In the Ateni Valley, a picnic infrastructure has been set up on the banks of the Tana River, offering a well-appointed space for visitors to the valley.
Within the framework of the USAID project, new signs of tourist information centers have been installed in the target regions.
