Georgia is moving to a completely new model of emergency situations – Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said at today’s government session.
The Government will approve the package of legislative amendments, including changes to the Civil Security Law at today’s session, with a new model of emergency situations management.
“We will consider a very important package of civil security reforms, according to which the country passes on a completely new model of emergency situations, which envisages much more engagement, more efficient and simplified.
In detail, the competences of the state agencies and the Emergency Situations Service are evaluator, decision-makers, and therefore the responsible and coordinator.
In addition, the package of reforms envisages other innovations. These include volunteer system, alternative military service and involve scientific circles to prevent crises.
In parallel to the improvement of the legal framework, we are actively working on strengthening and updating the Emergency Service Infrastructure. The tender has already been announced for purchase of fire trucks for forests.
Also, a very important agreement was reached with an Austrian company, which is the world’s leader in the production of such equipment, “Rosenbauer”. Together with the Georgian company “Delta” will start joint operation of fire trucks. “Pickup” skeletons will be machines that will have the equipment and equipment of the company “Rosenbauer”, which is the world’s most successful operated fire-rescue machines.
