Georgian Army 100 years ago – The exhibition dedicated to General Giorgi Kvinitadze was opened at the Rustaveli Theater Foyer.
The exhibition displays military form, which by the time the Georgian army defended the country’s independence a century ago.
Giorgi Kvinitadze was the commander-in-chief and military assistant of the Georgian Army who had emigrated to France after the occupation of Georgia. In his book “My Response” recalls the events of February 1921 and describes the military tactics of the then Georgian army, strong and weak.
General records and personal belongings were exhibited at the Rustaveli Theater foyer which was attended by his grandson.
“I can not imagine if Georgia recognized him so. General Kvinitadze has done everything for Georgia’s freedom. That is why I have a special date for May 26, “said Merab Odishhelishvili, the grandson of General Giorgi Kvinitadze.
Defense Minister was present at the exhibition. According to Levan Izoria, the generals’ garment was restored and the history revived.
“It is symbolic that the generals’ grandson is celebrating with us. This is precisely the responsibility of what the General and his colleagues laid the foundation for the first democratic republic in Georgia, “the minister said.
Rustaveli Avenue is presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia “Diplomatic Museum”. The visitor has a photograph of 1918-1921 photographs and documents.
The Foreign Minister of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze visited the stand.
